I agree 100%, this is a great idea and very important for the safety of pedestrians on this busy road.

As an elderly person I feel very unsafe trying to cross the road on Gloucester Street and Kennedy Road at both these locations. I have also seen very young children waiting to cross and they have to wait a very long time for a big enough gap in the traffic to get across otherwise they run fast and gamble with their lives. I have witnessed some very near misses at both these locations. There is definitely room for improvement.

It is surprising that these locations are not served by pedestrian crossings, given the nature of the adjacent facilities. As part of continuing to improve the cycle/pedestrian friendliness of our city, the provision of facilities such as these ought to be a priority.
